Welcome

To meet a growing need for education in the French education system in London, a "school plan" prepared by the Cultural Services of the Embassy of France helped to plan the future location of French establishments. The first of these schools "The French Bilingual College of London” opened its doors in September 2011. Eventually, it will host 700 students from kindergarten to the Year 10.

Based in Kentish Town in North London in a listed, fully renovated, nineteenth century building, this new institution offers an education with the following aims:

  • Provide a bilingual and bicultural education to young French, British and international students;
  • Encourage academic excellence as prescribed by the French Ministry of Education with the goal of exceeding the stated requirements;
  • Advise and assist students and their families to achieve the best possible educational experience;
  • Promote each student’s personal development by providing a wide range of individual and group extra-curricular activities in arts, culture and sport;
  • Help students build their academic futures in consideration of admission to selective academic training in France, Great Britain and worldwide;
  • Teach students to respect the richness and diversity of different cultures both within CFBL and beyond.

The implementation of this project was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in London, the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce, and the Agency for French Teaching Abroad (AEFE).
