Friday 4th September, CFBL | Collège Français Bilingue de Londres was happy to welcome the French Ambassador in the UK Catherine Colonna, Claudine Rippert-Landler, Cultural Counsellor to the French Ambassador & Director, Institut français du Royaume-Uni.
They were welcomed by Denis Bittmann, headteacher, Benjamin Vedrenne-Cloquet, Head of the board, Cécile Denais, Deputy head teacher for Secondary school, David Gassian, Deputy head teacher for Primary school and Tony O’Grady, head of administration and finance.
They went to 6a class where Mrs Silva, English Canadian, was teaching English.
From 6ème, all students have five hours of English and British culture classes. The aim is to enable as many students as possible at the end of 3ème to sit the tests for the French national schools certificate (Diplôme National du Brevet – DNB), International option.
In CPB class, with Mrs Doliger, they talked about the role of an Ambassador.
“You represent the French president” concludes one of the pupil.
For his second academic year as a headteacher at CFBL, Mr Bittmann, headteacher showed Mrs Colonna that CFBL takes measures regarding the Covid-19 situation: from remote learning – Zoom classes, Google Classroom, Chromebooks, etc. – to protocols
“Even though it is a special year, says he, we launched mandarin classes and maths in English from Year 7 classes. We also opened two new Nursery/Reception classes.
We have a lot of challenging projects for our students and our teachers! We are really happy to always adapt to our community’s needs. The well-being of our pupils is one of the most important thing to us”
