Cookies

‘Cookies’ are small identifying text files that are stored by the browser on your computer or mobile phone. Websites are able to read and write these files, allowing them store things like personalisation details or user preferences. Cookies are stored on the computer’s hard drive. They cannot, however, access the hard drive – so a cookie can’t read other information saved on the hard drive, or get a user’s personal details, e-mail address etc.
Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies. A persistent cookie consists of a text file sent by a web server to a web browser, which will be stored by the browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date (unless deleted by the user before the expiry date). A session cookie, on the other hand, will expire automatically at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.

On accessing the CFBL website a ‘cookie’ is automatically stored on the user’s computer system in order to speed up access and help track your choice of language preferences. We need to use temporary session cookies to maintain your user session and tell our server which page to pull up next, such cookies are allocated to you computer only for the duration of your visit to our website and expire when you close down your browser.

CFBL does not use cookies to store or collect personal information and therefore our use of cookies does not impact on your privacy. However, the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 require website users to consent to the storage of access to cookies (unless they are strictly necessary to enable us to provide you with any service you have requested).

By using the CFBL website you agree that we may place the cookies mentioned above on your computer.

Most browsers allow you to reject all cookies, whilst some browsers allow you to reject just third party cookies. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
