CFBL is committed to maintaining the highest standards of data protection and safeguarding for all members of our community. We continuously review our practices to respond to emerging risks, including those related to artificial intelligence.
Use of pupil images in external communications
CFBL is taking a proactive and leading approach to pupil privacy in the digital age. In response to the growing risks associated with AI and deepfakes, the school no longer uses identifiable images of pupils in any external-facing communications (including the website, brochures, social media and press).
All external materials now feature AI-generated faces, stock images, or blurred images, rather than real pupil faces, reducing pupils’ online footprint and the potential for misuse of images.
This practice reflects CFBL’s commitment to leading safeguarding practice among UK schools and protecting pupils in a rapidly evolving digital environment.
School trips and outings
To balance data protection with pupil experience, CFBL has introduced new guidelines on photography during school trips:
A limited number of photos will be taken each day
Only one curated update per day will be shared with families via approved channels
Photos will prioritise non-identifiable group or activity shots
These measures ensure staff remain focused on safety and pedagogy, give pupils the freedom to engage with their experiences, and support a mindful approach to digital exposure.
