A Very Special Guest: Illustrator Marianne Barcilon visits the classroom!

This week, the Year 1 (GS) and primary school pupils had the chance to experience a magical moment thanks to the visit of Marianne Barcilon, the well-known illustrator of children’s books. Famous for her tender and humorous drawings, she enchanted both young and old during this unforgettable encounter.

In attentive silence, the children listened as Marianne Barcilon tell one of her picture books, captivated by the story and the illustrations unfolding before their eyes. With her warm voice and gift for storytelling, she brought her characters to life with emotion and playfulness. Laughter rang out, and the children watched with wide-eyed wonder.

After the reading, Marianne took the time to explain to the pupils how she creates her characters. She showed the different stages of her work, and the children were able to see how her little heroes with big round eyes and expressive faces come to life. With just a few pencil strokes and great generosity, she even taught them how to draw one of her iconic characters.

This visit will remain a cherished memory for all the pupils.
