Last week, the canteen highlighted a wonderful initiative focused on healthy, balanced eating: “Eat the Rainbow”. Based on a simple and engaging idea, this project encourages pupils to include a variety of colours on their plates in order to diversify their nutritional intake.
The concept is clear: the more colourful the plate, the richer it is in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Red, green, orange, yellow, purple… each colour brings specific benefits to the body. Through this visual and educational approach, children discover that a balanced diet can also be fun and appealing.
Throughout the week, menus were specially designed to reflect this concept. Seasonal fruits and vegetables took centre stage, giving pupils the opportunity to taste a wide range of foods while developing their curiosity for new flavours. The catering team showed great creativity in preparing dishes that were as attractive as they were tasty.
Beyond what’s on the plate, this initiative is part of a wider educational approach. It aims to raise awareness from an early age about the importance of healthy eating, while providing simple habits that can be applied every day. “Eating the rainbow” thus becomes an easy and memorable reflex, both at school and at home.
The project was met with great enthusiasm from both pupils and staff. It perfectly reflects the canteen’s commitment to offering more than just a meal: a moment of learning, discovery and shared enjoyment.
A colourful initiative… that truly whets the appetite for healthy living!
