News for the Houses in Secondary

The New House Ambassadors

The Secondary section of CFBL now has House Ambassadors, pupils elected to represent their House throughout the year. Their role is to organise events, quests and challenges, helping to bring the school community to life and promote the colours of each House.

For this first session, Chlorofox House has been awarded 200 House points for successfully identifying the five Ambassadors.

The House Ambassadors are:

Paul C., for Lamperfly, Guardian of the Light and Protector of Souls
Azat, for Bellynxhorse, Defender of Knowledge, Wisdom and Virtue
Isidore, for Faeroceler, Flame Bearer and Herald of Courage
Léna and Emma, for Chlorofox, Clever Spirits, Daughters of the Forests and the Green Star

Together, these five pupils form the House Council, which meets weekly to prepare events and challenges for all Houses.

All pupils are welcome to suggest ideas for projects or quests by contacting the House Council.

The Winter Festival at CFBL

This week, CFBL celebrated the Winter Festival, a colourful and creative event. All pupils were invited to take part in three main activities.

1. The Great Hat and Scarf Gathering

During morning break times, each pupil wearing a Christmas hat and their House scarf earned one participation point for their House.

House schedule:
Monday: Chlorofox
Tuesday: Bellynxhorse
Thursday: Faeroceler
Friday: Lamperfly

2. The Great School Garland

All pupils contributed to creating the largest garland in the school, which was displayed in the Central Staircase.

Templates were available online and from Student Services, and each link was coloured in the pupil’s House colours.

The garland was gradually assembled and completed on Friday 19 December at 2:20 pm.

3. The Winter Poetry Competition

Pupils wrote poems about winter, the end-of-year celebrations or the magic of the seasons.

All forms were accepted (haiku, sonnet, quatrain, or song lyrics without music). The House with the highest number of participants won this challenge.

Poems were submitted to Mrs Percetti before Wednesday 17.

The Winter Festival truly brought CFBL to life. Hats, scarves, artwork, poetry and the work of the House Ambassadors all contributed to a festive, creative and inclusive atmosphere.
