Today, our Early years pupils had the pleasure of attending The Enormous Turnip, a theatrical adaptation of the classic folk tale. Performed by the talented artists Bronia Evers and Sam McElroy, the show captivated the children with its expressive puppets, lively songs, and humour.
The story follows a family of farmers, helped by their animals, as they attempt to pull a gigantic turnip from the ground. Each character contributes, highlighting the values of cooperation, perseverance, and teamwork. The children were invited to participate actively, singing along and interacting with the puppets, which enhanced their engagement and understanding of the story’s themes.
The performance provided a wonderful opportunity to stimulate the children’s imagination, introduce them to live theatre, and convey important human values, all within a joyful and engaging atmosphere.
