Would you like to become more involved at CFBL, but are unsure about the difference between a Parent Trustee, a Class Parent Representative (parent délégué) and a member of the APC Committee? All three contribute to school life, but at very different levels.
Parent Trustee: helping shape CFBL’s strategic direction
Parent Trustees sit on the CFBL Board of Trustees. Their role is strategic, covering areas such as the school’s long-term direction, educational performance, financial sustainability and legal and regulatory compliance. They do not represent individual parent interests or become involved in the day-to-day running of the school.

Class Parent Representative: supporting families within a class
Class Parent Representatives are the link between families in their class and the school. They help circulate information, direct parents towards the appropriate member of staff, encourage positive communication within the class community and support APC initiatives and school consultations.
Their role is not to intervene in individual issues between a parent and teacher, or to challenge teaching programmes or methods.

APC volunteers: bringing the parent community together
The APC (CFBL Parents’ Association) is separate from CFBL and represents the parent community in its discussions with the school and the Conseil d’Établissement (school council). It also organises events, supports educational projects and raises funds towards school trips, and outings.
APC volunteers help lead the association and organise its activities and projects throughout the year.
