Year 10 Students Explore Higher Education in London

As part of their careers and higher education guidance programme, Year 10 students had the opportunity to discover two of London’s most prestigious universities: Imperial College London and King’s College London. Divided into two groups, some students visited Imperial College while others explored King’s College. The visits were designed to give students a better understanding of higher education and to encourage them to start thinking about their future academic pathways.

The students who visited Imperial College London discovered a world-renowned university, particularly recognised for its excellence in science, engineering, medicine and technology. They toured the campus, observed the facilities dedicated to teaching and research, and learned more about the wide range of opportunities available to students.

Meanwhile, the group visiting King’s College London explored one of the United Kingdom’s oldest and most prestigious universities. The visit enabled them to learn about the diverse range of degree programmes on offer, including humanities, law, social sciences, health sciences and international relations, as well as the vibrant student life in the heart of London.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to ask questions about university life, admissions procedures, different academic pathways and future career prospects. These discussions helped make higher education more tangible and supported their ongoing reflection on future study choices.

This enriching experience allowed students to gain a clearer understanding of the British university system and broaden their horizons. It was an excellent opportunity to look ahead to the future and discover the many possibilities that can be achieved through hard work, motivation and ambition.
