Year 8 Trip to the British Museum

As part of their history unit on the birth of Islam in the Middle Ages, Year 8 pupils visited the British Museum for an engaging and educational outing.

During the visit, pupils explored fascinating artefacts and artworks illustrating the rise and expansion of the Islamic world — from early manuscripts and calligraphy to ceramics, coins, and architectural elements. The museum’s Islamic galleries provided a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with real historical objects, helping students better understand the cultural and scientific achievements of this civilisation.

The visit was not only an opportunity to deepen their historical knowledge but also to develop curiosity and appreciation for the rich diversity of the medieval Islamic world. A rewarding experience that truly brought history to life!
