As we head into the autumn season, CFBL students are invited to let their imaginations run wild by taking part in a writing competition that promises to be as creative as it is terrifying!
The challenge? Choose one of the suggested images as a starting point and use the accompanying vocabulary to create the scariest story possible. All the words on the list must appear in the story and be highlighted. The aim is simple: make Ms Watts and the CFBL staff shiver with fear!
Stories must be handwritten, contain at least 100 words and fit on one A4 sheet, available from Vie Scolaire. Students should also remember to include their first name, surname and class.
Entries must be placed in the box in Vie Scolaire by Friday 16 October 2026.
The best stories, as well as some particularly impressive entries, will be rewarded with House Points and a bag full of sweets — including vegan options — and toys.
Ghosts, haunted houses, mysterious creatures or eerie encounters… get your pens ready!
