Under glorious sunshine, 25 pupils from Year 4 to Year 6, accompanied by a Year 7 ambassador, proudly represented CFBL at the London Mini Marathon. It was a memorable day, filled with sport, determination and a strong sense of community.
The pupils ran a one-mile course (1.6 km) through some of London’s most iconic streets. The exceptional route took them past Buckingham Palace before they crossed the famous finish line on The Mall — the very same finish line used for the renowned London Marathon the following day.
In a fantastic atmosphere, with plenty of encouragement along the route, our young runners showed outstanding commitment. Easily recognisable in their caps, they demonstrated remarkable determination and enthusiasm throughout.
There were also some excellent performances, with finishing times ranging from around 6 minutes 15 seconds to approximately 10 minutes, reflecting each pupil’s effort and preparation. Beyond the results, however, it was their exemplary behaviour that truly stood out.
Organised by Mrs Saudo, with the valuable support of Mrs Paris, the event was a wonderful showcase for CFBL. A rich sporting and personal experience that the pupils will undoubtedly remember for years to come.
