As part of Math Week, the CFBL once again celebrated numbers with a series of competitions designed to spark students’ logical thinking and love of challenge. Among these, the “BOSS OF MATHS” mental math competition stood out as a highlight.
Organized in several stages, the contest began with each teacher from Year 6 to Year 10 (CM2 to 3ème) hosting in-class mini-tournaments to select the top four students per class. These young math whizzes then advanced to a semi-final round on paper, followed by a fast-paced final for the top six students at each level — all aiming for a very special prize: the chance to represent CFBL at the AEFE Mathematics Congress.
This year, the event will be hosted by Vauban School in Luxembourg, from May 13 to 15. Not only will our five finalists compete against winners from other AEFE schools worldwide, but they’ll also enjoy a rich and exciting mathematical and cultural experience.
On the agenda: the final competition rounds, of course, but also maths conferences, a guided tour of Luxembourg’s historic center, sports activities like Laser Run, and even a Math Night, blending learning with fun.
We send our warmest congratulations and best wishes to the students proudly representing CFBL:
Arthur (Year 6 / CM2)
Hortense (Year 7 / 6ème)
Adam (Year 8 / 5ème)
Emile (Year 9 / 4ème)
Nirmit (Year 10 / 3ème)
Best of luck to all of them for what promises to be a thrilling and inspiring trip!
