April has been a lively and inspiring month in the Primary School, with pupils taking part in a wide range of educational visits, creative workshops and special projects that have brought learning to life both inside and outside the classroom.
On 15 April, CM1 pupils had the opportunity to take part in a remarkable interview with Zachary’s grandfather, whose unusual personal story offered pupils a memorable insight into a unique professional experience. A few days later, on 20 April, CP pupils visited the Ragged School Museum, where they were able to deepen their understanding of the past through an immersive and engaging educational outing.
The week of 20 April also welcomed author and illustrator Marianne Barcilon for a series of workshops across the Primary School, some organised in collaboration with Juliette Milbach, Professor of Art History at university level. From PS to CM1, pupils enjoyed readings and creative activities linked to her books, including Pourquoi moi j’ai jamais de câlin ?, Le chat botté, La tétine de Nina and Kimono. These sessions gave children the chance to discover the world of storytelling and illustration in a vivid, hands-on way, while nurturing their imagination and love of books.
Also on 21 April, PS pupils visited Kentish Town Fire Station, an exciting outing that allowed them to learn more about the work of firefighters and the important role they play in the community. Looking beyond these recent events, CE1 pupils are also taking part in the inspiring AEFE project Cinécourts en herbe 2026, through which they will create a short film as part of an international French-speaking festival for young people. To round off the month, MS pupils are due to welcome Safari Pete on 30 April for an educational reptiles workshop.
Together, these experiences reflect the richness of Primary School life at CFBL, where cultural discovery, creativity and meaningful encounters help pupils grow in curiosity, confidence and openness to the world.
