Raising Awareness of Bullying

On Wednesday morning, Collège students took part in a dedicated awareness session on bullying, organised as part of the French national policy to prevent and address bullying in schools, alongside the school’s safeguarding commitments in the UK.

From 8.30am to 10.30am, two hours of the timetable were set aside to allow all students to participate in activities designed to encourage reflection, dialogue and collective responsibility around respect and wellbeing within the school community.

The morning began with the completion of a national self-evaluation questionnaire. This tool helps schools identify potential situations of bullying and better understand how students perceive the school climate.

Students then took part in class discussions led by two members of the educational team (teachers, pastoral staff or supervisors). These sessions provided an opportunity to reflect together on the role each individual plays within a group, and to discuss respect, mutual support and everyday kindness. Conversations also addressed issues such as intimidation, “banter”, and online behaviour, helping students think about how to respond constructively when faced with these situations.

Promoting a safe, respectful and supportive environment for every student remains a central priority for the school, and these initiatives form an important part of that ongoing commitment.
