The Winter Festival has recently come to an end and proved to be a unifying event for all the students of the Four Houses. Through a series of challenges combining participation, creativity, and written expression, the students were able to engage actively in school life while developing teamwork and a sense of collective commitment. Here is a summary of the highlights of the event and the results achieved.
Strong engagement during the Great Gathering
The Great Gathering of Hats and Scarves opened the Winter Festival. This challenge, based on student participation, allowed the level of involvement of each House to be measured. Lamperfly House stood out with 28 participants, earning 280 points. The other Houses also demonstrated strong engagement, reflecting the overall enthusiasm surrounding the event.
Creativity and cooperation around the Grand Garland
Throughout the festival, students contributed to the creation of the Grand Garland at CFBL, displayed in the Central Staircase. Each snowflake made counted as a point for the corresponding House. This activity highlighted the perseverance and collective effort of the students. Lamperfly House came first with 217 snowflakes, closely followed by Bellynxhorse with 213 snowflakes, demonstrating particularly strong commitment.
Words in the spotlight with the Winter Quill Competition
The Winter Festival also placed great emphasis on written expression through the Winter Quill Competition. Several students participated by submitting poetic texts inspired by winter and the holiday season. A poem by a student from Bellynxhorse House particularly caught the jury’s attention, receiving the special award and earning additional points for her House.
Points tally by House
At the end of all the challenges, the cumulative points were as follows: Bellynxhorse 723 points, Lamperfly 597 points, Faeroceler 333 points, and Chlorofox 178 points. These results reflect both the involvement and the diverse talents of the students, whether in participation, creativity, or personal expression.
Looking ahead
The Winter Festival is part of a broader programme of activities and projects offered throughout the year. In the new term, a questionnaire will be sent to students to gather their feedback and ideas for future events. We thank all the students for their commitment and the families for their support. These key moments help to strengthen the sense of belonging and the collective life at CFBL.
