On Saturday 7th March, APC hosted its annual Careers Fair for our Year 10 students, bringing together a group of generous parent volunteers who shared their professional experiences and career journeys. The event was very well attended and provided students with a valuable opportunity to begin thinking about their future education and career pathways.
Students rotated through a series of career stations and spoke directly with professionals working across a wide range of sectors, including finance, marketing, law, artificial intelligence, architecture, design, entrepreneurship, healthcare and technology.
Throughout the morning, students demonstrated great enthusiasm and curiosity, asking insightful questions about university courses, career progression and the day-to-day reality of different professions. These discussions helped them reflect on their interests, strengths and possible academic pathways, particularly when thinking about their subject choices after the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB).
One of the most valuable aspects of the event was hearing about the different educational journeys taken by our parent volunteers. Their experiences showed students that there are many possible routes to success, including university degrees, professional qualifications and career changes.
The Careers Fair reflects CFBL’s commitment to providing high-quality Careers Information, Education, Advice and Guidance (CIEAG). The event also highlighted the importance of the strong partnership between students, school and parents, with our parent community playing a key role in bringing careers education to life.
We are very grateful to all the parents who volunteered their time. We also look forward to continuing this exploration with our Year 10 university visits in May, including trips to Imperial College London and King’s College London.
